vor 40 jahren begründete der film die reifeprüfung die karriere von dustin hoffman und stand am anfang einer reihe von filmen, die die sozialisation der generation der sogenannten 68er begleitete. thema: widerstand gegen das establishment (wie abgeschmackt das heute klingt!). anläßlich der wiederauflage der reifeprüfung auf dvd (für die jüngsten unter uns: dustin hoffman, anne bancroft, simon&garfunkel) bringt freshair eine themensendung (ENG), als podcast downloadbar.

dazu ein bemerkenswerter kommentar (ENG) des filmkritikers john powers (vogue). mrs. robinson wird rehabilitiert: ich denke, das hat sie sich wirklich verdient! sauseschritt transkribiert als serviceleistung für seine treuen leser/innen:

einfach nur weiterlesen und möglicherweise kommentieren:

(...) Haben die gedacht, die Klassengesellschaft hat aufgehört, oder was? Die besteht immer noch, und die wird auch weiterbestehen. Und das ethnische Moment ist eine Begierde der herrschenden Klasse. So einfach ist das. Und wer mit neoliberalem Dreck kommt, wer aufhört politisch zu denken und anfängt ethnisch hinzugucken, tut es den herrschenden Klassen – und dazu gehören auch die Medienmacher und die Medien – gleich. Das ist ein Verbrechen. Das sind Kriminelle. So muss das besprochen werden. Die Rechten kommen immer und sagen "Hey, die kommen aus einem anderen Kulturkreis." Man darf tatsächlich Dinge, die aus diesem anderen Kulturkreis kommen auch nicht bagatellisieren. Das wäre Blödsinn. Man darf ja auch nicht den weißen Männern das Wort reden, indem man als Frauenrechtsaktivistin daherkommt und gewissermaßen diese Jungs da abschießt, dann von der Religion spricht und die ethnische Grundlage zum Gegenstand der Erörterung macht. Das sind Weibchen der weißen Männer. Und diese Weibchen kommen und gehen und kommen. Da ist das Etikett "Feminismus", da ist das Etikett "besonders selbstbewusste Grüne" oder wie immer all diese Opportunisten und Aufklärungsspießer heißen. Man guckt sich das an, aber man darf nie aufhören, sich das politisch anzusehen. Der politische Blick ist ein geiler Blick! (...)

sauseschritt bezieht einen gutteil seiner hinweise auf interessantes und spannendes von worldchanging (ENG). pragmatisches zur veränderung der welt: das war es doch, auf was wir immer schon gewartet hatten, oder?

ein wenig fühlt sich sauseschritt nun verpflichtet, die unterstützung positiv zu erwidern und empfiehlt heftigst diese sammlung der interessantesten postings oder auch nur den feed zur seite. bis weihnachten schafft die zustellung amazon-us noch spielend, und wenn nicht: auch im neuen jahr wird man/frau noch lesen können.

so what have we heard in international media since the end of the state emergency announced by the government of georgia? not a lot. we do face this phenomenon of globalised media to only discontinuously report about developing countries. its the catastrophies and destruction which is the main focus of reporting. world's attention seems to pass by quickly: perseverating attention, jumping from one news to the other. maybe western media will be back to georgia short before the envisaged elections in January, unless no other catastrophies happen in the meantime.

so lets turn to Russian newspapers instead: the moscow times starts in todays issue to replace the term rose revolution by the one of a smokey rose revolution:

lange hat sich sauseschritt nicht mehr um william gibson gekümmert, wohl auch, weil er stets ein wenig skeptisch ist, wenn es um science - fiction geht. tatsächlich hat er nur das erste buch des herren gelesen, und das wohl auch nur deshalb, weil hier bestimmte heute uns allen geläufige begriffe genannt wurden (etwa der vielgerühmte cyberspace). das taschenbuch steht in einem wiener regal und hat den namen neuromancer.

nun hat herr gibson nicht nur einen sehr ansprechenden webauftritt (blog included). sein neuer roman ruft heftigstes blätterrauschen hervor und die kritiken sind durchaus ansprechend, zumindest jene von telepolis (GERM), auf die sauseschritt via adresscomptoir aufmerksam gemacht wurde. warum also nicht, den neuen roman lesen? für die, die gerne nur zuhören, es gibt spook country bei audible auch als hörbuch, allerdings einstweilen nur in englischer sprache.

(...) 50 thousand people returned to the streets of Genoa on November 17th to protest the recent charges against 25 people accused of devastation and sacking. The peaceful demonstration was a protest against the Italian government decision to not create a special facts commission on the G8 in Genoa in 2001 and against the latest decision of prosecutors to propose 225 years in jail and a hundred thousand euros fine for hurting the reputation of Genoa. Meanwhile, the court cases against police officers for the tortures in Bolzaneto and for the raid in the Diaz school move slowly forward (one will be ending by the end of the year and the other around summer 2008) towards meek convictions and statute of limitations after the first court sentence. People were protesting against a reinterpretation of Genoa G8 history and a clean and one-sided version of the events: Police acted correctly and protesters are still overestimating the abuses (...)
