is there a world, in which a wonderful day is waiting for me?" asks the advertisement rhetorically. of course, there are a lot of worlds in the first world which promise a lot, happiness included. one only should have been born at the right place and time. the full text in german:

flughafen wien ag is looking toward the new year with considerable optimism.
the global upturn in the aviation industry is expected to remain strong throughout 2005. if there are no major disruptions, vienna international airport could record increases of 8% in the number of passengers and 5% each in flight movements and maximum take-off weight (MTOW) during 2005. these optimistic forecasts are supported by expected growth in travel to eastern europe and long-haul flights to the far east as well as the positive development of low-cost carriers, reports the official website of the vienna airport. sauseschritt wanted to see what economic growth might mean for the nearby
lobau national park. it finally turned out to be a very pessimistic perspective with respect to the still funcional enivironment of the nearby danube river!

is writing the gift of curling up, of curling up with reality? one would so love to curl up, of course, but what happens to me then? what happens to those, who don’t really know reality at all? it’s so very dishevelled. no comb, that could smooth it down. the writers run through it and despairingly gather together their hair into a style, which promptly haunts them at night. Something’s wrong with the way one looks, starts elfriede jelinek´s
nobel lecture. the orf was not noble enough broadcasting the lecture on time .......

henri cartier-bresson (august 22, 1908 - august 3, 2004) was a french photographer. he was commonly considered the undisputed master of candid photography using the small-format rangefinder camera. considered by most to be the father of photojournalism, cartier-bresson exclusively used Leica 35 mm rangefinder cameras equipped with normal 50mm lenses or occasionally a telephoto for landscapes. along with robert capa and other photographers, cartier-bresson founded magnum, the first photographic cooperative, in 1947.

sometimes travelling by train is a way to stop time running too fast. on sauseschritts way back from salzburg, having finished some work at the famous salzburg seminar, it happened: a lady entered the compartment and all of a sudden both of them were heavily involved in complaining about modern business life. on the one hand people being exploited totally with respect to their physical, emotional and mental resources, on the other hand people who miss work (underemployed, unemployed). turbocapitalism demands this speed that really kills: no patience for those, who react too slow and no time to create things carefully. when will the economic, political and social system implode finally? what will we do not to burn out too early?
was lernen wir daraus? was du in einem satz nicht sagen kannst, ist ohnehin uninteressant. andererseits: denken und handeln brauchen zeit.
when sauseschritt passes the nearby muslim kindergarden, one often tries to imagine what pupils learn there. and visiting the turkish shop, which has replaced the beloved "greisler" on the corner, one gets aware of the gap between how close we live in this district and how little we (want to) know about each other. and there is another observation: how self confident turkish women are in istanbul and how shy and silent in my neighbourhood.
