the most convenient place(webcam) in vienna to fly your kite is the donauinsel near to the millenium tower and the schulschiff. therefore the place is crowded with ambitious sportsmen and -women, who don´t care about others and almost kill each other with their kites on stormy days like last sunday.

es ist kalt und grau - der wind überrascht mit böen und bläst recht lustig. mit dumpfen knall bohrt sich der eine oder andere lenkdrachen knapp neben sauseschritt in den boden. singend durchschneiden die mordgeräte mit höllentempo den luftraum. wenn da der kopf dazwischen kommt ...... die hektik der drachenlenlker/innen ist groß an jenem sonntagnachmittag, ebenso die verbissenheit und der konkurrenzkampf um den besten platz. der unvorhersehbare wind tut das seine. e. hat mit ihrem einleiner fast einen jener supersportlichen lenkdrachen abgesäbelt und beginnt, langsam aber sicher, zufrieren. entspannt ist anders, denken e. und sauseschritt und erwägen, in zukunft entweder eine ruhigere tageszeit oder ein ruhigeres plätzchen zu suchen.

ja, tatsächlich, der [anlaß ....] war motivierend genug: hingegangen, eingekauft, das gelände erkundet und ihn trotz schwachem wind fliegen gelassen. konsequenz: das wird öfter gemacht und daher in einem eigenen ordner gebloggt!

if you?ve never heard of kite aerial photography (kap) or the aficionados (kappers), who prefer to sever their earthly ties via a camera attached to a kite, you?re not alone. though it?s hard to estimate such things, most kappers will tell you there are only 200 or so of their kind spread out over the globe. nevertheless, their small numbers belie the fact that they are capturing some of the most remarkable and exciting images to be found in landscape photography. all this while implementing the same basic kap principles used before the invention of the airplane. writes good times, a california entertaining magazine and makes us aware of a higly interesting technique of taking extraordinary fotos.

was ist kap? das ist kap! und sogar die entsprechende industrie gibt es! einfach drachen und das andere equipment kaufen und auch so schöne bilder produzieren! ein tief beeindruckter sauseschritt, der sich jetzt mal den drachen kaufen geht.

..... auf dem 16. wiener herbstdrachenfest auf der donauinsel !
zwei künstler/innen (pauline taylor / nick james) haben dort eine installation aufgebaut und um nachrichten gebeten. sauseschritt, ab sonntag mittags im wind baumelnd. es war der 12. oktober 2003.
