flughafen wien ag is looking toward the new year with considerable optimism. the global upturn in the aviation industry is expected to remain strong throughout 2005. if there are no major disruptions, vienna international airport could record increases of 8% in the number of passengers and 5% each in flight movements and maximum take-off weight (MTOW) during 2005. these optimistic forecasts are supported by expected growth in travel to eastern europe and long-haul flights to the far east as well as the positive development of low-cost carriers, reports the official website of the vienna airport. sauseschritt wanted to see what economic growth might mean for the nearby lobau national park. it finally turned out to be a very pessimistic perspective with respect to the still funcional enivironment of the nearby danube river!
